wayward daughter of theresa (daily prompt-a true saint)

poem

stared out stained glass till mass ended

Peace be with you; and also with you

graduation from memorization equals indoctrination

ain’t gonna be no saint gave up on the miracle to lay hands upon

gave Love away like exhales with a frail heart

the reciprocity is few

ain’t gonna be no saint because of what bodies do

placed on tongues like eucharists

blessed heads baptized in sweat

drunk off cruets filled with seduced nectar

from switchin positions like stations of the cross

denial doesn’t make it a false positive

no ain’t gonna be no saint

went through the list

ain’t no saint for the Spirit of lust one can’t resist

the Soul one keeps chained so it won’t get too far

speaking promises like prayers that twinkle little Stars

wasn’t a good catholic no matter the picture painted

so as far as bein a saint

it’s a damn shame

ain’t it?
